GORDON GOODWIN – Even for a successful composer and arranger in Hollywood, Gordon’s numbers are impressive: A 2006 Grammy Award for his Instrumental Arrangement of Incredits from the Pixar film The Incredibles, three Emmy Awards, and eight Grammy nominations.

Here’s another impressive number to add to the list: Eighteen. As in the number of musicians in Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, one of the most exciting large jazz ensembles on the planet.

Action-Suspense Suite

A series of cues compiled from various projects, the suite features a broad range of ensembles, from synth only (ug), to 90 piece orchestra (yay!).

Animaniacs
The Scoring Session

We won an Emmy for this one. It was an "Animaniacs" episode about a scoring session, very hip and inside! Man, we wrote alot of notes for thoses shows!

Goofasaurus

This one's pretty funky and features James Ingram's brother Phillip on the lead vocal - he sounds great. Tom Child and I wrote this for Disneyland's "The World According To Goofy" Parade.

Lush OrchestraI

love this cue - it's unabashedly romantic - you don't get to write this knida stuff that often nowadays.

Sylvester & Tweety
Mysteries

One of my biggest professional challenges has been writing music for Warner Brothers animated programs like "Animaniacs" and "Pinky and the Brain". What a great stable of composers we had over there: Rich Stone, Steve Bernstein, Julie Bernstein, Carl Johnson, Eric Schmidt, Tim Kelly. I learned a ton from all of them. It's also without question the most laughs I've ever had on a project. "Sylvester & Tweety" was my assignment for the studio.

Time's Movin' On

This song was written by my wife Lisa and I for the Tokyo Disneyland Millenium Celebration, and features exciting vocals by Carmen Carter and Randy Crenshaw.

A Christmas Wish

Lisa and I wrote this as a Christmas gift to our friends and family a few years back. It showcases the magnificent acapella vocal work of some of Los Angeles' finest singers: Lisa Goodwin, Linda Harmon, Susie Logan, Rick Logan, Bob Joyce, and Dick Wells. The solos are by Lisa and our daughter Madison, who was all of five years old at the time! Don't make me listen to this one, it makes me cry!
